Okaw Valley Elementary students set a goal to create 500 valentines for Rep. John Shimkus' Valentines for Heroes program. In just a few short days (due to no school cold days), OVES students far surpassed their goal and created 805 Valentines. A representative from Congressman Shimkus' office visited OVES students to accept our Valentines. These valentines will be distributed to VA hospitals, homes and to current military members. OVES is dedicated to community service and our students really enjoyed creating the valentines. Look for our article in the News Progress!!
