OVIS wants to help Japan in their time of need.

The OVIS Student Council and we collected a total of $554.45 for Japan. We will award the proceeds to the Red Cross in our May 23rd OV Way assembly.  Thank you to all helped with this endeavor.                   

 This year students will be dismissed  each Wednesday at 2:00 pm.

We have created a new links page to offer students sites that will help them in their academic classes.  It is located on the left hand menu listed as Classroom Internet Links.     

Spelling words for both the 4th and 5th grades are listed in Spelling City. The lists encompass the entire year.

Study Island offers students online ISAT practice.  The site offers instruction, remediation and games on the topic.  Your child has been given a login and password and I urge your child to logon and have fun practicing for ISAT's.

I Read to the Principal

The "I Read to the Principal" program was initated this year as an Accelerated Reader reward.  When a student reaches 50 AR points he/she earns the privilage to read to Mr. McCausland.  The student may read from their current book or select a different book.  The students have reacted overwhelmingly to the program.  Below is a slide show of those who have read to Mr. McCausland.
