Okaw Valley and Excellence!
2nd Semester News! FLEX periods will be utilized to prepare freshmen, sophomores, and juniors for their state tests. Core curricula departments received training through Cambridge Educational Services. One goal of the training was to determine the most effective manner to utilize the 30-minute FLEX at the end of each day. We will begin to utilize a three-step process: 1) 5-10 minute bell-ringer assignment "timed", 2) review of skills, 3) review and preview next FLEX. This is going to be an adjustment for students who have utilized FLEX as a study hall, but the purpose of the FLEX period is to reinforce the core curricula areas to better prepare students for rigorous state standardized exams. The Okaw Valley High School "Travels the Path to Success" character education initiative will also begin this second semester. Details of this initiative will become available shortly.
Spring Break--April 2-5 *Principals note--As spring approaches, Okaw Valley High School staff and administration encourage parents and students to look at the appropriateness of school clothing or apparel. This year we are increasing our focus on the professionalism and appearance of our student body. If you would like to view the OVHS Dress Code click on link in upper right corner of this web page.
