I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how sorry I am that the text alert system that was in place for emergency dismissals failed earlier this week. Superintendent Kent Stauder contacted Neuhoff Media and asked them to send out an alert regarding the power outage yesterday. There was confusion on Neuhoff Media’s part by a new employee and the alert wasn’t sent out. When Mr. Stauder called back and talked to the director he was told it was their (Neuhoff Media’s) error and they were very sorry the ball was dropped. He assured Mr. Stauder that it wouldn’t happen in the future and wanted us to relay their apologies.
We here at Okaw Valley Elementary School strive to ensure the safety and well-being of all our students, however some things are beyond our control. We saw that first hand yesterday. In order to ensure another method of receiving information in the event we can’t call or access our computers we found this information regarding text alerts from WAND-TV. It is up to you to sign up for additional alerts. Once again, I am sorry for the confusion and I thank you for your quick response and understanding.
